You can raise money for our school and earn money toward tuition just by shopping and it doesn't cost you any extra! Not one dime!
It might sound too good to be true, but you really can help raise money for our school and for your own tuition when you shop or dine out. Simply purchase scrip in the school office and use it as you would use gift cards or gift certificates. These businesses then pay back a percentage of the purchase to the school.
You regularly shop at Fry's Foods so you pick up a scrip gift card. At the grocery store, you purchase your groceries as usual, paying with your Fry's scrip card. Fry's returns 5% to the school. If your family spends $100 per week on groceries in this way, you will earn $260 dollars in just a year and you haven't spent a single dime more than you would have using any other payment method!
You shop at Kohl's using your store credit card. When your bill arrives, you purchase Kohl's scrip and use it to pay your bill at your nearby Kohl's location. Kohl's returns 4% of your purchase to Most Holy Trinity.
You can also purchase scrip and give it as gifts. If your brother-in-law loves Chipotle Mexican Grill, you can purchase a gift card for his birthday and Chipotle will return 10% of the gift card value to our school.
We do ask our families to use our scrip program and set a goal of $150 in scrip revenue. However, once you reach that $150 goal, your family will receive 50% of any additional scrip revenue in the form of credit which can be applied toward school tuition!
So, using the example of Fry's Foods above, the school would receive $205 dollars in that year and your family would receive $55 dollars credit toward your tuition.
Remember, this is money you are already spending. It doesn't cost you anything extra! You can even place an order for your scrip via email at firstname.lastname@example.org and it will be ready for you to purchase and pick up in the scrip office before and after school. Scrip is available for more than 500 merchants. The full list of available scrip and the percentage that is returned as scrip revenue can be found here.
"Our educational work should go this way to achieve harmony - harmony in all the boys and girls who have been entrusted to us; inner harmony, the harmony of their personality. It is by working in a hands-on way, imitating God, molding the lives of those kids like clay, that we achieve harmony and rescue them from the dissonances perennial darkness. Harmony, by contrast, is bright and clear; it is light. What we have to achieve is the harmony of a heart that grows and that we accompany in this educational journey."
~ Pope Francis (then, Cardinal Bergoglio – April 18, 2012)
